Diocesan Farewell Meeting
The Chennai - Bangalore Diocese of the Mar Thoma Church bid farewell to the Diocesan Bishop Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Episcopa on Sunday, 28th December 2008 at the Bangalore Mar Thoma Syrian Church, Primrose Road. The Bishop is transferred to the North America and Europe Diocese from 1st January 2009. The farewell meeting was chaired by Rev. K. S. Mathew, Sabha Secretary. Adv. Mathew T. Thomas (Hon. Minister for Transport, Kerala Govt.) was the chief guest of the day. Rev. Dr. Mani Chacko, Director of Ecumenical Christian Centre, Bangalore delivered felicitation address. The meeting was well attended by people from parishes and Mission fields of the Diocese, especially from Bangalore and Devanahally centres. Representatives of various Diocesan and centre organizations, Clergy, Parishes and Mission fields felicitated the Bishop on that occasion. The Diocese has published a festschrift volume "In Search of Christian Identity in the Community" as a part of Tirumeni's 60th birthday celebration. The book was released by Adv. Mathew T. Thomas. Rev. K. Y. Jacob, General Convener welcomed the gathering and Rev. Mathew Baby, Diocesan Secretary extended vote of thanks.
