Ankola Mission

In Ankola Rev. Dr. K M Samuel and Rev. Thomas Mathew P serve as missionaries and Mr. Thomas George and Mr. B. K. John as evangelists. The evangelists stay in Belambara and Lashmeswar and they function independently in different areas as well as jointly in selected programmes. Sunday Schools classes are conducted in two villages and children attend in large numbers. Nine children received educational assistance through   Indian sponsorship  project.   A good number of members regularly attend the monthly seekers meeting at Ankola Church.  During the year, Ankola Jathra and one Alcoholic Anonymous programme were held. Five prayer groups function in the area. The evangelists regularly attend worship with beievers on Sunday at Ankola Church .   They also join the fasting prayers every Friday and participate in the morning devotions in the hospital.  House visits, personal evangelism, self help group meeting for women, VBS, Youth awareness programme, pre-marital counseling, and de addiction programmes were other important activities Young people were encouraged to attend the Youth Camps, retreat sessions and counseling.   The evangelists attended an In-Service Course organized in Ankola. Eight children from villages are sponsored and are being given financial help for education through the "Ashram Sponsorship Programme".

 

Mar  Thoma Welfare   and  Education  Society, Bangalore   is     a  registered   society   and   runs   an Opportunity  School  in  Bangalore.   Mar  Thoma Centre   Beerasandra  is   joint   project  by   the   parishes   in  Bangalore  Centre  to   commemeatrte  the   Golden Jubilee  celebration of   the   worshipping   community  in Bangalore.
