Karnataka Navajeevana Samithi Two missionary achens and nine evangelists are working in the Samithi. The following were the main activities / events during the year:
Seekers' Meetings with strength of about 160 were conducted four times during the year. Follow -up meetings were also held to give them Christian nurturing.
A Youth Meeting was conducted at Murugumala under the leadership of Prof. Nanjundappa of Hoskote, who addressed current issues confronting youth in our mission areas.
New Membership: This year 25 members were added to the worshipping community. Vacation Bible Schools were conducted at six places. About 900 students took part.
New Station: A new mission at Srinivasapura was started and it is growing very well.
New Church: Two Church buildings (chapels) at Murugumala and Lakshmipura along with evangelist's quarters were completed in the report year.
New Hostel: A Girls Hostel was started early this year with nine girls. The hostel building has been extended to accommodate 35 students.
Rural Trade Training Centre: Action is being taken to start two vocational training courses of six-month duration in welding and carpentry to give our youth the technical skills required to be self reliant and industrious.
New School: To uphold our motto "Liberation through Education", a Grama Jyothi School has been started at Dibburahalli village . The response is very good.
New Compassion Project: In addition to our Sneha Jyothi CDC Sidilagatta, the Shalom CDC has been started in Rayalpadu to cater to the educational needs of around 110 rural children. It was our long cherished dream to have a Child Development Centre at Rayalpadu and God has made this a reality.
Participatory Programmes: Apart from the existing tailoring schools and balawadis in the villages. Participatory programmes like Navajeevana Vidhya Nidhi, Marriage Aid, Medical Insurance, Self Employment and Housing Aid are some of the schemes we have initiated during the year to help rural families. Six families were helped to obtain proper shelter . |
